Hi! I welcome you to the "Hiku" page!

Hiku is origanaly from Japan. It was created a long time ago! Here is how Hiku works...

Hiku is a three line poem that has five synables on the first line, seven synables for the second line and five synables for the last line! The animation on the top is an example.

Its teeth are its tools.  5 synables.

Using sticks to make a home. 7 synables.

With a tail of plaid. 5 synables.

Clap the synables! Thats how I learned it!  We will start out with something super simple! Just think of any random thing that has 5 synables!  You don't really need a topic, just any ranodm thing! Your second line only has one rule... it has to have 7 synables! It doesnt have to have anything to do with the first sentance yet, cause we're just brainstorming! Maybe something like... The birds wing is very clean! The last line could be.. Hmm, mabie "please pass the T-bone."

Now is the tricy part.... making everything combind together and make a fully amazing poem!  Editing will be verry hard for this because you cant change the synables!

I will do a random idea and walkthrough it with you! Uhhh... The sun!!

The sun.. whats cool about he sun? All we know is that its bright, and it stings your eyes when you look at it! Oh.. ya, we can do ...."Sun your verry bright" Then "You crash and sting my clear eyes" YAYY!! It works. The last one should be something about its yellowness! Ohh.. We could do " Your yellow blindes me" Does that sound good? If we put it all together it would work perfectly! Here lets try it.

Sun your very bright.

You crash and sting my clear eyes.

Your yellow blindes me.

Easy isnt it? You can try it with some easier subjects to help you more!

Your welcome!
